strange fruit & warm nights

some of the most serenely happy but also some of the most jubilant moments I can remember have been of feeling the force of the ocean (with warm and freezing currents) tug at my legs, inhaling that ozone scent deep into my lungs, falling into the water allowing it to buoy my body, make me weightless. It’s as though all my cares and my identity itself is evacuated in those encounters with large powerful bodies of water.
